Compare LED bulbs without confusion

Use lumens, wattage, beam angle, and base type to compare bulbs quickly.

Do not compare LED bulbs by wattage alone. Wattage tells you power use, while lumens tell you brightness. A lower-watt bulb can still be brighter if it is more efficient.

Check the base type before anything else. E27, GU10, MR16, and other bases are not interchangeable without changing the fixture. After that, compare lumen output and color temperature for the room.

Beam angle matters for downlights and spotlights. Narrow beams are useful for accents, while wider beams are better for general room coverage.
